Stagecoach introduced the Supertram Link service to connect the Stocksbridge and Oughtibridge areas of Sheffield with the Supertram network. The high frequency service has been designed to offer a seamless transfer between the different modes of transport. There is also through ticketing.

The South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive has put its support behind the service with upgrades to the Middlewood Park and Ride site.
