SupertramLink Improvements

A number of additional stops have been introduced to Sheffield’s popular Stagecoach Supertram Link following feedback from passengers.

The Stocksbridge to Middlewood Park and Ride service will make new stops in Oughtibridge and Wharncliffe Side to make travelling easier for people living along the route.

The extra stops in Oughtibridge are on Langsett Road South at Bertram Road (inbound), Holmesfield Road (outbound) and on Langsett Road North at Cockshutts Lane (both directions). The new drop-off and pick-up spot in Wharncliffe Side is at Green Lane (both directions).

The Supertram Link, Sheffield’s successful bus-based tram feeder service, was shortlisted in the 2008 UK Bus Awards Integration category.

“The Supertram Link was primarily created to give travellers into the City a fast and convenient alternative to the car and continues to go from strength to strength, maximising the strengths of the two different modes of travel to provide quicker and more consistent journeys..."

The introduction of the new stops has been welcomed by local councillors and will be of great benefit to passengers using this service. It follows a review of Stagecoach’s network which has been carried out in consultation with South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive and took into account feedback from the travelling public.
